At their headquarters in Yorkshire Taylors of Harrogate manufacture blended tea and coffee and have a large bakery which serves the 5 regional branches of ‘Betty’s Café’ group.

 

At Nicholas Associates we helped Taylors develop a brief to provide new offices, café and staff welfare facilities. The feasibility study presented here explores an option to form the new development as an extension to the existing factory.

 

The proposed scheme has a ‘light industrial’ aesthetic but the use of timber screen and a generous ‘veranda’ at ground floor level offers a tactile environment with space for social interactions.
